Erwin Flückiger, the CEO of Feldschlösschen Beverages Ltd, has taken his own life. Erwin Flückiger was 48 years old and unmarried. Nils S. Andersen, President and CEO of Carlsberg, expresses his deepest sympathy with Erwin Flückiger’s family and the employees of Feldschösschen, who have lost a highly esteemed colleague and inspirational leader. “I am profoundly saddened by the loss of my respected colleague Erwin Flückiger. Erwin was a proud and inspiring man, whose energy and enthusiasm brought out the best in all who met him. His abilities as a leader took Feldschlösschen to new heights and were an inspiration for the entire Carlsberg Group. Erwin Flückiger’s passing will deeply affect all of us who knew him. He will be greatly missed,” said Nils S. Andersen. Members of the Feldschlösschen management team are deeply shocked by the news and can find no reason to believe that his death has anything to do with the state of the company. Under the management of Erwin Flückiger, Feldschhlössen has experienced a major turnaround and is performing excellently. Thomas Metzger, CFO and deputy CEO will until further notice take over as acting CEO of the company.
