The new beer mixed drink from Fribourg with a shot of lemon has a slightly sweet taste and an alcohol content of 5%: the refreshing "Cardinal Lemon" is available immediately at major events, and as from July in selected restaurants and bars.
Cardinal Lemon comes in a 27.5 cl longneck bottle specially introduced for this new beverage. The product itself was developed for beer drinkers who are looking for a new, fresh taste experience, as well as for consumers who find "normal" beer too bitter. Cardinal is therefore responding to the growing demand for slightly sweet, mellow beverages without a strong alcohol content. Independent market research confirmed that Cardinal Lemon tastes good: "In the category 'beer', Cardinal Lemon reached the highest acceptance level ever measured among 18-28 year-olds," said Kim Christensen, Director of Marketing for Feldschlösschen Beverages AG, the parent company of the Cardinal Brewery. Based on this high acceptance, Christensen believes that already this year, several thousand hectoliters will be sold. Beginning immediately, Cardinal Lemon will be available at festivals and events sponsored by Feldschlösschen Beverages AG. Starting in July, the innovative new drink will be introduced in selected bars, clubs, pubs and discotheques.
