The Swiss beer brand Cardinal will display its feminine side this autumn as it brings the new “EVE” to the market at the end of September. “EVE” by Cardinal is a lightly alcoholic beverage with the delicate flavor of lychees. It defines a new beverage category, having been specially developed for the women’s market. “EVE” is brewed based on malt and rice, and thanks to its very low alcohol content is an especially light drink.
Trend-conscious women can hardly wait for it: Cardinal is finally offering an alternative to the flute of champagne, glass of white wine or “spritzer”. With “EVE”, Cardinal is establishing a new category of cocktail for the modern, self-confident woman – the “Aperit-EVE”. Close contact between Cardinal and the relevant bars in various Swiss cities has confirmed what market research already indicated: When they go out after work, or are having a drink before dinner, women would like to be able to select from a greater choice of lightly alcoholic beverages. Beer is not an alternative for many women, and for this reason the company developed “EVE”. It is the first lightly alcoholic aperitif for women.
Especially mild thanks to rice and malt
“EVE“ by Cardinal is brewed using rice and malt, which makes it titillatingly mild, while naturally pure lychee juice gives the „Aperit-EVE“ its natural, fruity flavor. Whether enjoyed at the bar, in a club or among friends at home, “EVE“ by Cardinal, with only 3.1 percent alcohol by volume, is the perfect drink to end a long workday on a cool, refreshing note. It is naturally fruity, refreshing in a special way and light in alcohol content. In contrast to beer, one doesn’t drink “EVE“ directly from the bottle, but instead enjoys it straight from the refrigerator, served in a champagne flute or with ice in a long drinks-glass.
Created by women for women
With the launch of „EVE“, Cardinal is calling upon its comprehensive knowledge of the Swiss beverages market as well as its 200+ years of brewing experience, and putting this know-how, for the very first time, to the advantage of female non-beer drinkers. Some 78 percent of Swiss women between the ages of 18 and 49 drink beer only rarely or not at all. “EVE“ was created especially for these women by a team of women at Cardinal. “At the forefront of our thinking was the need for a refreshing apero drink for women,“ says Chantal Weibel, Brand Manager Cardinal. “We wanted to create a product that would offer young, self-confident women a light, flavorful alternative to cocktails and other alcoholic beverages.“
It will soon be possible to order “EVE“ by Cardinal in every trendy bar and at the most fashionable clubs.
