Due to the high level of investment in the beer market, Feldschlösschen will increase the prices for its beers produced in Switzerland by an average of 4.4%.
The price adjustment, which will take effect on 1 May 2012, comprises its own brands of beer produced in Switzerland and will be 4.4 percent on average. It will affect all packaging combinations (non-returnable and returnable bottles, cans and kegs) as well as all distribution channels (gastronomy, retail and beverage trade).
In recent years Feldschlösschen has markedly increased its investment in the beer market and will continue to consistently pursue this policy over the coming years in order to strengthen its own brand beers produced in Switzerland. This way Switzerland’s leading brewery will counteract the increasing share of imported beers on the Swiss market, which has significantly risen over the past ten years.
The high level of investment in the beer market necessitates a price adjustment. Furthermore, the increasing transportation costs cannot be absorbed by raising efficiency alone.
“As the market leader it is our mission to strengthen our own brands with attractive promotions and a broad spectrum of advertising support, whilst at the same time developing the beer category through innovations,” Feldschlösschen’s CEO Thomas Metzger emphasises.
Feldschlösschen continues to back Switzerland as its production location. In addition to the national brands of Feldschlösschen and Cardinal, as well as the regional brands of Hürlimann, Valaisanne, Gurten and Warteck, the Carlsberg and Tuborg beers for the Swiss market are produced in Switzerland too.
