The 8th of February is a very special day for Feldschlösschen. It is the founding day of the brewery. In addition, every important milestone in the company’s history was celebrated on the 8th of February. One year ago, Feldschlösschen celebrated the 100th anniversary of its brew house which is built in art nouveau architecture. On this occasion, the exclusive Theophil vintage beer was brewed in a limited edition of only a few hundred. Part of the sales proceeds are donated to the non profit organization for people with disabilities in Fricktal (MBF).

It was exactly 134 years ago on 8 February that beer was brewed in the «Kollektivgesellschaft Wüthrich & Roniger Brauerei zum Feldschlösschen» in Rheinfelden. The 8 February is the founding day of the company and the brand Feldschlösschen. It was the beginning of an extraordinary success story of Swiss entrepreneurship. That the home of the brewery is built as castle with much love to detail instead of a simple manufacturing facility is credited to Theophil Roniger and Mathias Wüthrich, the two founders of the company. The brew house which was completed in 1909 is the absolute highlight of the castle. Even today, the brew house of Feldschlösschen is considered to be the most beautiful in the world. On 8 February a year ago it celebrated its 100th anniversary. For the anniversary celebrations, Feldschlösschen brewed the Theophil vintage beer in honour of the founder Theophil Roniger using an old traditional recipe.

Cooperation with the Non-profit for People [Stiftung für Menschen]
Employees of the non-profit organization MBF made the special wooden cases for this exclusive beer. Moreover, this non-profit receives part of the proceeds from sales. “It was not only a great commission of which we are very proud. Naturally, we are happy about the donation and the wonderful cooperation with Feldschlösschen,” says Jean-Paul Schnegg, managing director of the non-profit organization MBF.

On Monday, the staff members of MBF were extremely happy when Feldschlösschen delivered the second breakfast for the employees with a horse-drawn carriage. Gaby Gerber and Markus Werner from Feldschlösschen presented the check in the amount of CHF 5,000.00. They emphasized that even today the long company history is an obligation and an incentive to relive the legacy of the founders. The cooperation with MBF is based on a long tradition and it surely would be entirely in the interest of both founders of Feldschlösschen who ran their company in an exemplary manner even as employers. More than 100 years ago, they set up the first social programmes for their employees. Therefore, it was not by chance that Feldschlösschen presented the check for this vintage project on 8 February. After all, the 8th of February is Feldschlösschen day.
