Rheinfelden, 25 September 2007Feldschlösschen is portrayed in a new lightAfter 77 years, Feldschlösschen will be illuminated in a new way: Instead of bright red, a mystical white light will now emanate from the castle at night. The Feldschlösschen Brewery would like to create an impression at night, as well. That is why the lighting for the entire complex has been redesigned. The new lights, which were switched on for the first time on Monday (24 September) allow people to enjoy a three-dimensional view of the castle’s impressive architecture after nightfall, as well. The new lighting bathes the red brick buildings in a warm, white light that makes Feldschlösschen look like something straight out of a fairy tale. “This presents our castle in the best light”, says a pleased Thomas Amstutz, CEO of Feldschlösschen. “Now Feldschlösschen looks impressive at night, as well, which reminds those passing by in cars or on the train where the most popular beer in Switzerland is brewed." Until Monday, the silo tower had been illuminated with red neon tubes. The neon light that was installed in 1930 was a technical achievement at the time and quite a sensation in the Fricktal region. “The red lighting was too bright, though, and made the interesting buildings fade into the background”, explained Ruedi Steiner, the lighting designer commissioned by Feldschlösschen. “That’s why we decided on a new lighting concept that would not place the focus on any one building, but instead allow people to appreciate the unique architecture of the entire complex.” |
